National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

It's a Family Affair
Do you know who in your family has had colon cancer? What about polyps? Believe it or not, this information has a huge impact on YOUR health. Your risk for developing this cancer grows dramatically if you have a family history of either. What can you do? Know your family history!
That's why we've partnered with the National Colorectal Cancer Round Table (NCCRT) on the innovative Family PLZ campaign. In this age of quick communication, it can be all too easy to delay this kind of conversation. Please don't wait any longer.
For ideas on how to get the conversation started, check out familyplz.org. Here, you'll find free resources, an interactive survey and tips on how to break the ice with those you love. You can also order posters through our online store to spread the word in your community or workplace or download our free Family Health Tree.
We urge you to sit down and talk about your family health history, and be sure to share this information with your doctor. If you are at a higher risk for the disease, you may need to be screened earlier than you think. Your life could depend upon it! Learn more about other risk factors of colon cancer.
The CCA thanks Given Imaging for their generous support of the Family PLZ campaign.
