USPSTF Urged to Reconsider CTC Recommendations

The CT Colonography (CTC) Coalition asked the U.S. Preventative Task Force (USPSTF) to reconsider its recommendation regarding virtual colon cancer screenings. CTCs were originally not endorsed by USPSTF.

"Data show that when CTC is offered in addition to other colorectal screening options, screening compliance rates dramatically increase," said CTC Coalition member Andrew Spiegel, CEO of the Colon Cancer Alliance. "That is why we believe the USPSTF should endorse CTC."

According to the CTC Coalition, virtual screenings offer patients a less expensive and minimally invasive option that could drastically increase rates of screening.
