Newly Opened Clinical Trial for Rectal Cancer Patients
This clinical trial does not use any new drugs or devices. All treatments used are FDA approved and have been available for over a decade. The research study seeks to sequence rectal cancer treatments in a new way and test if it is safe to administer pelvic radiation to only some, instead of all, patients.
Rectal cancer specialists hope that FOLFOX chemotherapy before surgery will enable some rectal cancer patients to avoid chemoradiation.
