Cars For Colons Cruise In
When Danielle was a just a child, her grandmother passed away from colon cancer. Knowing how important family history and awareness is in preventing colon cancer, she was determined to make a difference in her community of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Danielle’s boyfriend Chris, an avid car racer and speed shop owner, got on board to raise funds and awareness. Together they came up with an idea to paint the Colon Cancer Alliance logo on his race car and hold an event to promote awareness. During March, which is colon cancer awareness month, they hosted “Cars For Colons Cruise In”. Not only did 50 participants show their cars, but local sponsors participated as well. A colonoscopy was even donated by Digestive Health Specialists of Winston-Salem, Advance, Kernersville, and Thomasville.
Chris takes the Colon Cancer Alliance branded car to races and events to spotlight colon cancer awareness and will show it at the September 2012 Piedmont Triad Undy 5000 in North Carolina.
Thank you Danielle and Chris for all of your hard work in raising awareness for colon cancer and for supporting the Colon Cancer Alliance!
