Fighting Cancer in All 50 States
Robert Hauptmann was a man of many talents. He could fix anything. He built houses for his family as well as for the homeless. He made earrings. When he wasn’t busy making, fixing or learning something, he loved spending his time with his family and friends.
Despite Robert’s superman-like qualities and his regular colonoscopies, he tragically lost his battle with colon cancer in October 2012. After seeing her indestructible father succumb to this disease, Ina Rose, Robert’s daughter, jumped into action.
As an athletic woman, Ina believed running marathons would be a good outlet for her to raise awareness. But instead of running just one race, she vowed to run 50: one in every state in America. Ina is committed to this fight and plans to continue running for 20 years, with a goal to raise more than half a million dollars.
So far, Ina has raised more than $12,000 to support the Colon Cancer Alliance’s (CCA) vital programs and services. Her passion for raising money to fight cancer is as strong as ever. Ina runs for her father’s memory and for a future free of colon cancer. Keep on running, Ina!
