DC Goes BlueHelp Us Turn DC Blue for Colon Cancer
This unique week-long campaign will be held September 26 - October 3, 2010 with the goal of bringing the community together in a declaration of support for survivors and to stress the importance of getting a screening test. Many Congresspeople and local businesses have come on board as supporters of DC Goes Blue, and the list continues to grow. Come out and join us at one of our daily events during the week including happy hours, health fairs and even a Colon Cancer Awareness Night at Nationals Stadium. The week will culminate in the inaugural DC Undy 5000. We hope to see you there!

The CCA Wants You!
Have you or has someone close to you been affected by colorectal cancer? Do you have talents that you wish to offer to a worthy cause? If you have been touched by colorectal cancer and want to help bring the CCA's mission to your local area, we encourage you to get involved. We are in search of dedicated volunteers for our Voices and Buddy programs to join us in our mission to end the suffering caused by colorectal cancer. We also have opportunities available with our exciting Undy 5000 5K events. You can also help by organizing a fundraiser or participating in Dress in Blue Day. Join the ranks of those who are making a difference. We are counting on you!

Seminar Web & Pod Casts Now Available
The 2010 Conversations about Colorectal Cancer seminars are now available on the web.  Learn about the latest information on treatment advances from the nation's leading healthcare professionals and hear answers to questions from survivors and caregivers who were in attendance.

Royal Oak and Jersey Welcome the Undy 5000
The increasingly popular Undy 5000 came to Royal Oak, MI and the Jersey Shore on July 31st. Nearly 1,000 participants came out for the events, which raised close to $100,000 to help support and build the CCA’s national and local patient support and public awareness programs. Additionally, a percentage of funds raised will go to the Beaumont Hospital Colon and Rectal Department in Royal Oak and the Riverview Medical Center in Monmouth, NJ to support healthcare programs and services to promote screenings, colon cancer research, and help the underserved.

Check out the Undy 5000 homepage for the latest Undy news.

Screen My Colon!
Watch our new animated public service announcement, and tell your doctor, "Screen my colon!" Colon cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the U.S.  The good news is -- you can significantly reduce your risk by getting a screening test.

The Colon Cancer Alliance (CCA) is the oldest and largest national patient advocacy organization dedicated to ending the suffering caused by colorectal cancer. We will increase screening rates and survivorship by providing support and education and furthering research and advocacy efforts.

Special thanks to Ethicon Endo-Surgery and Genentech for their generous support of CCA's Website.
