Evansville Undy 500
The first 'Undy 500' was held in Evansville, IN on September 26, and hosted entirely by students from the University of Evansville. Jennifer McKee, president of Students of AMF (deceased or "Ailing Mothers, Fathers," or loved ones) Support Network was joined by her peers in this effort to raise awareness for colon cancer.
Participants were encouraged to find the most creative pair of underwear for the race.
"It was amazing!! We had around 200 people show up, which was a great turnout considering it was an early, rainy morning on a small college campus," said Mckee. "Everybody is excited for the event to happen again next year, and I've had several people tell me that they couldn't come this year but wish they would have! Everybody seemed to have a great time and really got into the spirit of wearing their underwear!"
The CCA is grateful for Jennifer'’s efforts and applauds her huge success with this event, and hopes it will inspire similar awareness races on college campuses across the country.
