Statement on Teddy Pendergrass
Statement from Andrew Spiegel, Chief Executive Office, Colon Cancer Alliance
"The Colon Cancer Alliance's thoughts and prayers go out to Teddy Pendergrass's family and friends as the nation mourns the death of the American music legend.
Colorectal cancer affects 1.2 million Americans with an additional 150,000 people being diagnosed each year. It is 2nd leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. The CCA encourages everyone ages 50 years and older to get screened early and regularly. By doing so, over 80% of all cases can be prevented, virtually helping to eradicate this disease.
The Colon Cancer Alliance will continue to work tirelessly to raise awareness about colorectal cancer and the importance of being screened early for the detection and prevention of this disease."
