Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance Awards Charity Accreditation to the Colon Cancer Alliance
Seal Demonstrates Colon Cancer Alliance Met Vigorous Standards by the BBB
Washington, DC – The Colon Cancer Alliance announced today that is has attained the Charity Accreditation Seal from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Wise Giving Alliance. The Colon Cancer Alliance met all 20 of the BBB standards for Charity Accountability, which were developed to assist the public in making sound giving decisions and to foster public confidence in charitable organizations.
“We are thrilled to have been recognized by the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance,” said Andrew Spiegel, CEO of the Colon Cancer Alliance. “The Charity Seal demonstrates our commitment to excellence and assures the public that their donations to the Colon Cancer Alliance programs are being handled responsibly.”
Only national charities that meet the standards are eligible to apply for the seal. In order to receive the Charity Seal, an organization must be tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or conduct charitable solicitations that fall within the scope of the voluntary Standards for Charity Accountability. In addition, the BBB required the Colon Cancer Alliance to provide its latest audited financial statements, IRS Form 990, and a copy of the annual report, which were subjected to a vigorous and thorough review.
The Charity Seal will be displayed online and in all Colon Cancer Alliance materials to show they adhere to the BBB Wise Giving Alliance’s strong and comprehensive standards.
