2012 Buffalo Undy 5000

On a chilly morning in April, over 900 underwear-clad participants came to Delaware Park for the first-ever Buffalo, New York Undy 5000. New York State Senator Mark Grisanti, dressed in a suit and boxers, presented a proclamation marking April 28th as “Buffalo Undy 5000 5K Day” to Tess Fraser, the driving force behind bringing the Undy to Buffalo. Senator Grisanti also honored 26 survivors and all others who had lost to their battle with colon cancer.
Local participants helped the Colon Cancer Alliance raise over $103,000 to help support local and national awareness, screening, and prevention programs.
Local sponsors included Gastroenterology Associates, the Endoscopy Center of Western New York, Digestive Health Physicians, Buffalo Medical Group, Upstate Steel, Rupp, Baase, Pfalzgraf, Cunningham & Coppola LLC, Buffalo Spree, Star 102.5, and Rich Products. National sponsors included Dulcolax, Genentech, Salix Pharmaceuticals, Ethicon Endo-Surgery and Amgen Oncology. Thank you to all Undy 5000 participants and the great Buffalo Undy 5000 committee for helping to put on this fantastic event.
