2011 Dallas Undy 5000

“We had an amazing group out here today,” said Jasmine Greenamyer, Chief Operating Officer of the CCA. “Tons of volunteers, amazing participants and some inspirational colon cancer survivors made this event one of the best I’ve been to.”

More than 37 colon cancer survivors stood strong together on stage as the crowd cheered them on, and Jeff Marker, a four-year survivor, gave a short speech on his personal story. Marker apologized for letting his emotions show when talking about how easy it is to get screened and how if it wasn’t for his wife, Lana, taking on the “nag” factor, he’s not sure he would have been there to tell his story. 

Vivian Ta, Miss Texas United America 2011, also hosted the first-ever Dallas-based, Dulcolax® “Parade of Undies” Fashion Show. Five individuals and five teams strutted their stuff on the “blue carpet” and based on an applause test, one winner was crowned in each category.
