Posted on August 22, 2013
Have you seen Lee Daniels’ The Butler? This brand-spankin’-new American historical drama features an uncommon collection of Hollywood’s finest, including Oprah, Jane Fonda, Forest Whitaker, Mariah Carey and one of our newest CCA national ambassadors, Academy Award-nominated actor Terrence Howard. With critics declaring the film as “groundbreaking” and “Oscar bait,” we’re sending a special ‘congrats’ Terrence’s way – keep rockin’ it, Terrence!
So why did Terrence join the CCA? At age 56, his mother passed away after a six-year battle with colon cancer. So, we’ve partnered to create this powerful public service campaign, honoring his mom’s legacy by sharing her story to raise awareness about the importance of screening.
Terrence’s new movie, The Butler, is in theaters now. Check it out and remember: no more excuses, get screened. Read more about Terrence’s story.
